PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

IYOBITUM 2K is a rubber-bitumen-based, polymer-modified waterproofing product. It is a two-component system consisting of a liquid component—bitumen emulsion—and a powder component enriched with chemical additives and cement-based ingredients. It is used for waterproofing building foundations and retaining walls, as well as balconies and terraces. It can be applied to mineral-based surfaces such as concrete, screed, plaster, and mortar.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surfaces to be applied may be dry or slightly damp. Do not apply on wet or frozen surfaces.
Application should not be performed on areas with negative side water pressure, water vapor pressure, or salt efflorescence.
Surfaces should be clean, solid, and free of loose particles. Layers that reduce adhesion, such as oil, grease, dirt, paint, cement slurry, rust, mold release oil, and salt efflorescence, should be thoroughly cleaned before application.
If the surface is too smooth or glossy, it may need to be roughened before application.

PRIMER APPLICATION

IYOBITUM 2K liquid component (without mixing with the powder component) is diluted with water and applied. To do this, 10 kg of water and 1 kg of liquid component should be mixed thoroughly with a motorized mixer.
The resulting liquid is then applied to the surface using a stiff brush, and it must be allowed to dry completely.
Consumption rate: 200–250 g/m².

MIXING

IYOBITUM 2K is a two-component system. The powder component is mixed with the liquid component before application. No additional water should be added.

APPLICATION

Application can be done with a brush or suitable spray equipment.
- First Coat: Apply the first coat of IYOBITUM 2K (approximately ½ consumption) and then immediately lay the reinforcement mesh (80 g/m²) into the wet layer. Allow the layer to dry.
- Second Coat: After the first coat has dried, apply the second coat of IYOBITUM 2K. Be careful not to damage the first layer while applying the second coat.
The second layer should not be applied until the first layer is fully dry. In humid and cold environments, drying time may be extended, so ensure adequate ventilation to support drying.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Application should not be done in temperatures below +5°C or in situations where the temperature is expected to drop below +5°C within 24 hours.
The fresh coating must be protected from freezing until it is fully cured (minimum 3 days).
Do not apply on wet or frozen surfaces.
Perform an adhesion test before application.
The fresh coating must be protected from water, rain, dew, frost, and similar elements until it is fully cured.
