Product Description
APPLICATION
Surface Preparation
- The surface must be clean and dry. There should be no oil, wax, grease, water repellents, dust, or loose particles on the surface. The moisture content should not exceed 8%.
- New Concrete: Concrete should be at least 28 days old and free from curing compounds on the surface.
- Old Concrete: The surface should not have any easily detachable particles, sandblasting, or dusting.
- Metal: The surface must be clean.
PRIMING
- Concrete, asphalt, and metal surfaces should be primed with IYS AST-PU, a single-component PU-based primer. The primer can be applied with a brush or roller. The primer consumption varies from 150 to 400 g/m², depending on the surface smoothness, sturdiness, and porosity. After applying the primer, wait at least 3 hours and at most 12 hours before applying the adhesive.
MIXING
- A mechanical mixer with 100-200 rpm should be used for mixing. During mixing, extra care should be taken to avoid air entering the adhesive. All of Component B (hardener) is poured into Component A and mixed for a minimum of 5 minutes. To ensure a homogeneous mixture, scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container with a spatula. Properly mixing both components is critical for the adhesive’s performance. The sign of a well-mixed batch is a uniform color throughout.
MIXING LIFESPAN
- Once Components A and B of IYS PUR K 25 are mixed, the reaction is exothermic (heat-releasing), so the mixture will warm up. Especially on hot days, it is recommended to apply the entire mixture to the floor as soon as it is mixed. Depending on the ambient temperature, the mixture must be used within 45-60 minutes. At low temperatures, the usage lifespan will be longer, while at higher temperatures, it will be shorter.
APPLICATION TOOLS AND PROCEDURE
- IYS PUR K 25 should be applied with a trowel. The choice of trowel and consumption will depend on the surface structure. Consumption can range from 500 to 2000 g/m². Applying either a static or moving pressure on the surfaces being adhered is important for the adhesive’s performance. If pressure is applied, the entire surface will come into contact with the adhesive and will be uniformly transferred onto the surfaces.
CLEANING
- Excess adhesive and tools can be cleaned while still wet using cellulose thinner. Once the adhesive has cured, it can only be cleaned mechanically.
SHELF LIFE
- The shelf life for Components A and B is 1 year when stored in their original unopened packaging at storage temperatures between 10°C and 25°C. Protect both components from direct sunlight and moisture.
PACKAGING
- 24 kg set
- Component A: 21 kg tin
- Component B: 3 kg tin
STORAGE CONDITIONS
- Store in a dry environment, protected from freezing, between +5°C and +30°C, in its original packaging. Do not stack more than three pallets; avoid stacking pallets for long-term storage.
- If stored under appropriate conditions, the product can be kept for up to 12 months from the production date.
