PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

IYS PROOF RC 1K is a fast-curing, single-component, bitumen-enriched polyurethane-based liquid material. It is thixotropic and adheres very strongly to almost any type of surface, including bituminous substrates, forming a hydrophobic and elastic film.

It offers excellent resistance to chemicals and mechanical effects. Ideal for vertical surface applications, it does not run or bubble.

Its content is based on fully elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin, supported by chemically polymerized pure bitumen.

It is applied in two coats with a total consumption of 1.5 kg/m², using a brush, roller, or spatula.

LIMITATIONS

Not recommended for applications on unstable substrates or for exposure to UV rays.

FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES

Thixotropic: Can be easily applied to vertical or sloped substrates and complex surface details without running or bubbling.
Fast curing.
Adheres excellently to almost every type of surface, whether primed or unprimed.
Does not require thinning but can be thinned with ELAPUR SOLVENT depending on conditions.
Excellent thermal resistance: The product will never soften. Maximum service temperature is 80°C, and maximum shock temperature is 150°C.
Cold-resistant: The film maintains its elasticity down to -40°C.
Superior mechanical properties: High elongation, tensile strength, tear resistance, and abrasion resistance.
Excellent chemical resistance.
Functions effectively as a moisture barrier.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Generally adheres perfectly to almost any type of substrate, including bituminous surfaces, without the need for a primer. However, it is strongly recommended to conduct a test before application. For more information, please contact our technical department.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface should be cleaned using high-pressure water if possible, removing oil, grease, fuel, and paraffin residues. It should also be free from mold release agents, cement residues, shavings, loose particles, and cured membranes. Surface imperfections and cracks should be repaired using appropriate products.

APPLICATION

Apply with a brush or spatula.

CONSUMPTION

Total consumption: 1.5 kg/m² for two coats.

CLEANING

Clean tools and equipment first with paper towels, then with ELAPUR SOLVENT.

SHELF LIFE

The product can be stored in unopened original containers in dry environments at temperatures between 5-25°C for a minimum of 6 months. Once opened, the material should be used immediately.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Contains a low level of volatile flammable solvents. Do not smoke during application and work in well-ventilated areas, away from open flames. Continuous ventilation should be ensured in enclosed spaces, and activated carbon masks should be used. Note that solvents are heavier than air and will accumulate at ground level. Please request the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from your supplier.
